About the ProBook 440, 450 & 470

The ProBook 400 series uses the same generation names as the EliteBook (G5, G6 and so on). The AMD versions are the 445 and 455.

Most ProBooks take memory and SSD upgrades easily, which makes them good candidates for extending their life rather than replacing them.

Frequently asked questions

Can you upgrade a batch of these for our office?

Yes. SSD and memory upgrades, new batteries and a clean Windows build can give a fleet another few years. We can do them in batches, in the workshop or on-site.

Is it worth upgrading an older ProBook?

Usually, yes. An SSD and more memory make a G5 or G6 feel quick again, for much less than a new laptop. We check first whether it can run Windows 11.

How do I find my exact HP model?

The model name and the product number are on the label underneath, and in the HP Support Assistant app. The serial number on HP’s support site shows the exact build.
