About the EliteBook 840 & 830
The 840 and 830 share most of their design generation by generation, so parts and faults are similar. The AMD versions are sold as the 845 and 835.
From the G9, the 840 moved to a 16:10 screen and the 830 to 13.3 inches. Older G5 to G7 units are now reaching the age where batteries, keyboards and hinges need attention.

Frequently asked questions
Can you upgrade a batch of these for our office?
Yes. SSD and memory upgrades, new batteries and a clean Windows build can give a fleet another few years. We can do them in batches, in the workshop or on-site.
Can you recover data from a laptop with BitLocker on?
Yes, as long as you can give us the BitLocker recovery key. Business keys are usually stored in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory or your Microsoft account.
How do I find my exact HP model?
The model name and the product number are on the label underneath, and in the HP Support Assistant app. The serial number on HP’s support site shows the exact build.
