Crucial MX and BX SATA SSD data recovery
Crucial’s MX and BX drives are among the most popular SSD upgrades in the UK. We recover data when they disappear, slow to a crawl or report errors.

About Crucial SATA SSD (m4–MX500)
The m4 is remembered for a firmware bug that caused drives to stop working after 5,184 power-on hours until it was patched in 2012. Today the MX500 and BX500 are the most common Crucial drives we see. The BX500 is a DRAM-less budget drive, which is cheaper but more vulnerable to controller failure.

Frequently asked questions
My BX500 disappeared after a power cut. Is the data gone?
Usually not. Controller failures after power loss are common on budget SSDs and are often recoverable.
Is an old m4 worth recovering?
If the data matters, yes. The drives themselves are dated, but the flash is usually still readable.
What happens after I send the drive in?
We carry out a professional evaluation (£94.80), then send you a fixed quote and a list of recoverable files before any recovery work is charged.
Talk to an engineer
Describe the problem and the make and model if you know it. We will reply with a price and the fastest way to get it fixed, usually the same working day.
