About QNAP Business & Rackmount NAS
Business QNAP models run either QTS (with Linux software RAID and ext4) or QuTS hero (with ZFS). ZFS pools need specialist reconstruction, because data, checksums and metadata are spread across every drive. We image all drives and rebuild the pool offline.

Yes. ZFS recovery is specialist work, and we rebuild the pool from drive images rather than the NAS.
Do we need to send every drive?
Yes, including failed ones, labelled with their bay numbers.
What happens after I send the drive in?
We carry out a professional evaluation (£94.80), then send you a fixed quote and a list of recoverable files before any recovery work is charged.
