About Drobo NAS: 5N, 5N2 & FS
Drobo’s NAS units add a small Linux server on top of BeyondRAID, sharing data over SMB and AFP. Many failures are actually in the NAS electronics or power supply rather than the drives, but without vendor support the hardware cannot easily be replaced. Recovering directly from the drive pack is usually the safest route.

Years are approximate sales periods. Drobo stopped trading around 2022, but we still recover every model.
Frequently asked questions
My 5N vanished from the network but the lights are green. Is the data safe?
Often yes. It may be a network or NAS software fault rather than a drive failure. Do not reset it to factory settings.
Do you need the Drobo unit as well as the drives?
Please send both, with the drives labelled by bay. The mSATA SSD, if fitted, is important too.
What happens after I send the drive in?
We carry out a professional evaluation (£94.80), then send you a fixed quote and a list of recoverable files before any recovery work is charged.
