Buffalo NAS units run Linux with software RAID and XFS or ext file systems. When the NAS shows an error code or flashing red light, the drives often still hold the data. We image the drives and rebuild the array on our own systems without needing the NAS to boot.

Do you need the NAS or just the drives?
Usually just the drives, labelled with their slot numbers. Send the NAS too if it is easy to.
My LinkStation flashes red after a firmware update. Is data lost?
Usually not. Firmware problems rarely touch the data area. We recover from the drives directly.
What happens after I send the drive in?
We carry out a professional evaluation (£94.80), then send you a fixed quote and a list of recoverable files before any recovery work is charged.
